It is one-to-one or group classes. The sessions are by videoconference through Skype or Google Hangouts.

a) First reserve a free trial class by filling out a subscription form in which you specify your level of Spanish; what course you would like to take; how many classes you require; what day and at what time you would like to receive the lessons.

b) I will contact you by email to arrange a free trial session via Skype or Google Hangouts so we can get to know each other. In this class you will learn how Spanish Conmigo works and we will assess your level. If you are happy with what we have discussed, you pay for the classes and set the days and hours of your lessons.

c) A couple of days before your class, I will send you the materials we are going to work with.

d) You must be ready for the class on the day and at the time set.

It is a 30 minute session in which you will have a conversation with me to assess your level of Spanish.  I will explain in more details how we can work together to achieve your goals and you can also clarify any doubts you may have about online teaching. After the session:

a) You can decide if this method of teaching is interesting and appropriate for you.

b) You will be recommended which is the most suitable course for you, according to your skills, level and knowledge of Spanish

Keep in mind that Spanish Conmigo is located in Thetford, England. Here you can check the time zones and calculate the time difference between London and your country.

On the day and the scheduled time, I will call you via Skype or Google Hangouts and the class will begin, classes last 50 minutes.

The objective of the class is to make each student feel more confident using the Spanish language, therefore, the lessons are adapted to the learning style and the specific needs of each student.

The student participates actively in the classes because the lessons are designed according to their interests, needs, personal and professional objectives.

All the material that we are going to work with in class will be previously sent to the student by email. With the materials, the activities are carried out: oral and grammar explanations, audios, reading, writing texts and pronunciation, etc.

Any doubts that arise during the activities are addressed and resolved; practicing everything that is learned in class is paramount. The communication is interactive and in real time, just like any other class, so the student can take notes as we pro-actively work with all of the material.

At the end of the class, I will suggest the activities’ revision to be practiced at home to reinforce what you have learnt in each lesson. Whilst doing the activities, you can get in touch with me by email if you need any clarifications or want me to correct something.

Further more, you can also contact me by email if you have any queries or doubts not related to the extra exercises or previous lessons.

Preparing for the online Spanish class with me is very easy. Just download the free Skype.com software, create a free Skype account and it will be ready to run in a few minutes!

If you prefer Google Hangouts, you can download and use your gmail account.

You can even use Skype or Google Hangouts from your smartphone or tablet!

If your computer does not have a built-in microphone (and / or camera), you may need to buy a microphone (and / or camera + headphones).

It is advisable to turn on the webcam. Since body language is an essential element in communication and learning any language, the webcam will make communication more effective between student and teacher. However, turning on the camera is optional and the student who does not wish to do so will be respected.

Yes, you can indeed. A special study plan to help you prepare for the exams will be designed which is entirely adapted to your personal needs.

No, because I’m not a Spanish course but an experienced private teacher. I offer preparation classes for recognized exams around the world, such as DELE and SIELE.

During the class I will mainly speak Spanish. However, I  can speak in either English or Portuguese if this is necessary for explanations of grammar or any other clarifications.

Having classes in Spanish language is mandatory, as well as a great advantage for you, because you are forced to speak the language to communicate in real situations. Speaking Spanish at classes is the only way to learn and progress.

It is really up to each student, you are free to decide the number of class and hours per week (1, 2, 3 … 5) whatever suits you. You can receive as many Spanish lessons as you would like, however, I recommend a minimum of two classes per week since the constancy and frequency of contact with a language is the key to learning.

It really depends on what you require and need.

I find that one-to-one language classes produce the best and quickest results. When you have one-to-one lessons, your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths receive immediate attention and you will progress more swiftly.

In a group, it is important that all students have the same level of Spanish and it may be ineffective if students only have a limited amount of time at their disposal.

The one-to-one classes allow the student to choose when and where their classes take place and individual students receive more personalised attention to their needs to ensure that their objectives are met.

Before answering this question, we must not forget that the student is the one who is responsible for their learning, the teacher can only provide the means to learn with the most appropriate activities to suit their cognitive profile and level. The teacher will provide clear explanations, appropriate materials, extra activities and suggestions to keep learning outside of the class but it is up to the student!

The learning depends on each student: their motivation and interest in learning Spanish, the number of classes they take per week and the work they do outside of class. 

As a general rule and under normal conditions, it can take from 10 to 20 classes for the student to notice their improvement in the Spanish language.

The student can cancel or reschedule a class at any time and with no cost, as long as I (the teacher) am notified 24 hours prior to the arranged class time.

For example, if the class is scheduled for Monday, February 18th at 10:30, the student must notify me (the teacher) before Sunday, February 17th at 10:30. If not, the student will lose that class.

There is a grace period of 15 minutes from the scheduled start time.

I will try to contact you by Skype or Google Hangouts, if after 15 minutes I am unable to reach you, the class will be cancelled. And this specific class is considered null, therefore it cannot be rescheduled.

I may cancel a class due to force majeure such as: a natural disaster, problems with the Internet, power cuts, illness, etc. This class will be rescheduled as soon as possible according to the student’s availability and there is no extra cost to the student.

(problems with computer, internet, headphones, microphone, etc.)

Do not worry. I will postpone the class to another day at an appropriate time for you at no additional cost.

But if the problem continues to happen as a result of technical difficulties in the student’s computer or his/her Internet connection, the student will lose these classes, unless it is agreed otherwise.

Yes, all course packages expire SIX months after the purchasing date.
